We build Architectural homes, renovations, and extensions across Newcastle, NSW.

We focus on Passive House, High-performance (energy-efficient) homes, and heritage renovations.

Our approach is to respect the original character of the building while improving comfort and energy performance.

Generally speaking, Passive House (or Passivhaus) is an ultra-low energy building standard creates exceptional energy-efficiency, comfortable, and healthy homes requiring minimal heating or cooling.

This is achieved through:

  • High levels of insulation
  • Airtight construction
  • High-performance doors & windows
  • No thermal bridges
  • Heat-recovery ventilation

Passive House is a performance-based standard, meaning it sets strict targets for energy use (up to 90% less heating and cooling) and indoor air quality. The result is a stable, comfortable home with minimal energy input all year round.

A Passive House offers:

  • Reduced environmental impact and lower reliance on external power
  • Lower energy bills
  • Superior thermal comfort through high insulation and airtightness
  • Excellent indoor air quality with filtered fresh air
  • Quieter living, as airtight construction reduces outside noise…

Many of our clients come to us with plans already prepared by their Architect or Designer.

If you’re still in the early planning stages, we can recommend Designers we regularly collaborate with and guide you through the next steps. It is a part of the “Value Management”.

Our goal is to minimise changes once construction has started. That’s why we’ve developed our “Pre-Construction Process“, to resolve as many details as possible before signing the contract.

By thoroughly reviewing the design, scope, and costs upfront, we help protect your budget and reduce variations during construction. This also allows for smoother coordination with trades and suppliers.

On our most recent project, variations were kept to around 5%.

Our: Pre-Construction Process helps you make informed decisions before construction begins.

It includes two key steps:

Step 1: Quick Building Estimate (QBE):

  • You share your design with us, and we review the plans;
  • We meet with you to understand your vision, priorities, and ideas;
  • We then provide a no-obligation price range.

This gives you early cost clarity and allows you to adjust the design before construction starts, helping you plan with confidence.

Step 2: Fully Quantity Estimate (FQE):

If you choose to move forward, we break your project down into detailed cost items.

We collaborate with our trusted contractors and suppliers to ensure accuracy. Your plans are issued for real-time pricing and feedback, so you receive actual, up-to-date costings.

You’ll receive a transparent and comprehensive estimate, so you know exactly what to expect before signing a building contract.

Before signing a building contract, we recommend confirming your builder’s licence, insurance, and relevant credentials. Always ask your builder for a copy of their Certificate of Currency to ensure their insurance is current and valid.

As part of our Pre-Construction Process, we provide our clients with a comprehensive list of documents to review, including contract examples and the Fair Trading contract checklist. This helps you understand what to look out for and ensures you feel confident before signing any building agreement.

We use project management software to provide regular site updates to our clients. Each day, our team uploads photos along with a brief summary of the work completed on site, which is then shared directly with you.

Even if you’re travelling or living overseas, you’ll remain informed and connected to the progress of your home every step of the way.
