“Newcastle” is our latest knock-down and rebuild job, a custom home located in Stockton.
Through airtight construction, bulk insulation, passive solar, norther sun orientation, and mechanical ventilation system, this home maintains exceptional thermal comfort: warm in winter, cool in summer, and healthy all year round.
Powered by a 16.6 kW solar PV system, it operates close to net-zero energy use, complemented by rainwater harvesting, a bore irrigation system, and low-VOC, sustainable materials throughout.
Prefabricated structural systems minimised waste and site disturbance, while the project’s success was driven by close collaboration with long-term local trades, suppliers who share our passion for high-performance building.
This project demonstrates what’s possible when sustainability is embedded from the ground up. A home that’s beautiful, energy efficiency, year-round liveability and built to last for generations.
Key features: Airtightness, HVAC, high-performance wrap, bulk insulation, northern sun orientation, double-glazed windows & doors, passive solar design, and sustainable materials.
“While not certified, this home aligns closely with Passive House benchmarks. As a certified Passive House Builder (Passivhaus certified Tradesman), we’re grateful for the practical experience and proud to deliver homes that follow these internationally recognised standards.” – The Adapt Team
